Fantasy Book Cover Art
Client: Withheld ·I'm excited to share my latest project. The images shown here feature a blank space where the title and author information will be placed. When it comes to book cover design, one key detail that often gets overlooked is knowing the correct size/ratio for the final image, whether it's for print or an online platform. Getting this right from the start can save a significant amount of time and effort later on.
For this project, the client had already provided a rough draft of her vision, which was incredibly helpful. I usually enjoy client collaboration and always appreciate it when clients have a clear idea of what they want. It allows me to deliver quickly and efficiently, saving both time and money. The client had a tight deadline and only allowed two hours for the design, but with her sketch as a starting point, I knew I could deliver something great.
The project ended up taking closer to four hours, but I didn't charge for the extra time. As artists, we should be compensated fairly, but I enjoy learning and experimenting with new tools. For this cover, I used a glitter brush effect to enhance the jewel theme. Even though a glittery effect was my original idea, the client loved the grainy texture in the first version. I refined the design further using a scatter brush for the hand and the glow around the jewels.
Despite the tight timeline, I made sure the final product was polished and effective. It’s always a pleasure to bring a client’s vision to life, especially when they provide such a great foundation to build upon.

I have over 10 years of experience as an award-winning digital illustrator and portraitist. I create realistic, highly detailed images, primarily in Adobe Photoshop and Krita. My portfolio includes children's books, book covers, comic, coloring books, product illustrations, advertising art, and educational games. For children’s books, my style is a good fit for older kids, non-fiction, educational, middle-grade, and YA books. The three books I illustrated in the “If You Were Me and Lived In…” series by Carole P Roman were I enjoyed bringing to life the historical and cultural themes of "… Elizabethan England,” “…the American West, and “…the Mayan Empire.” These books have collectively won 17 AWARDS! These include the National Indie Excellence, the Moonbeam Bronze Medal, the Reader's Favorite Silver Medal, and many more.
