I was very proud of “If You Were Me and Lived In… The #MayanEmpire.” I did the #CoverArt and #InteriorBookIllustration for this #NonFiction #Historical #ChildrensBooks in the “An Introduction to Civilizations Throughout Time” series by Carole P Roman. I had a lot of fun researching historical objects, period clothing and buildings. There was an extra added challenge proposed by the fact Mayans liked artificial cranial deformation, intentional eye crossing, scarification tattoos and the filing of their teeth into points, but the author didn’t want illustrations to look comical.
